Lancaster JA868 at Lindholme airfield.

At 14.07hrs on 13th February 1945 this 1656 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was in the process of taking off from Lindholme and when the tail came off the ground the aircraft swung to port, the pilot was unable to correct the swing and it left the runway. He raised the undercarriage to prevent the aircraft from overshooting and also to avoid a collision. The aircraft may have come to rest on the main road at the west side of Lindholme airfield.
