Lancaster HK763 at Finningley airfield.
At 09.06hrs on 1st May 1945 this B.C.I.S. aircraft was being taxied around Finningley airfield prior to the start of a circuits and landings exercise when the port undercarriage leg collapsed on the application of the brakes. The leg was thought to have already been overstressed from previous heavy landings and hard use.
