Spitfire BM474 at Finningley airfield.
At 15.00hrs on 3rd May 1945 this aircraft was being given an air-test to test the flaps, it landed too far down the runway at Finningley airfield and the undercarriage collapsed after the aircraft swung out of control. The aircraft was initially inspected and deemed repairable but was later re-assessed and struck off charge on 18th May 1945. The unit the aircraft was on charge with and the pilot attached to was the Bomber Command Instructor's School (B.C.I.S.).

The pilot was possibly one Terry M. Saunderson RCAF of Dorval, Quebec, Canada who had served with 412 Squadron during 1943 and 1944.
