Unidentified Halifax at Rufforth airfield.

On 22nd April 1945 this 1663 Heavy Conversion Unit was to have been flown on a bullseye training flight. At 23.03hrs the aircraft was on a dispersal point at Rufforth airfield and was being fitted with a number of practice bombs when one of the bombs fell from the rack when it was having a pin extracted, the bomb struck the concrete and exploded injuring the French bomb aimer's hand and leg. Unfortunately the station record book does not identify the aircraft other than stating it was "-A" and it does not identify the crew or the injured person.
