At 13.00hrs on 4th December 1944 this aircraft was being guided out of a dispersal point at Sherburn in Elmet airfield with ground marshalls assisting the pilot. The tail wheel struck a tree trunk close on the perimeter track that one member of ground crew failed to spot and the tail wheel was damaged. The pilot was a member of No.7 Ferry Pilot Pool of the ATA.
