Spitfire P8660 at Catfoss airfield.
On 26th September 1944 this Central Gunnery School aircraft was left parked on the side of a runway at Catfoss that was not in use for take-offs and landings but that was used as a taxi-way. Perhaps unsuprisingly it was then struck by Spitfire P7524. Both aircraft were damaged and this Spitfire was deemed beyond repair. The pilot of P8660 had been the same as who had force landed Spitfire P8336 the previous day.
