Spitfire P8593 near Beverley.
On 25th June 1944 the engine of this Central Gunnery School aircraft failed while on a flight over East Yorkshire. The aircraft overshot the selected force landing field at Weel Carr, near Beverley and crashed. The pilot was a 60 O.T.U. pilot undertaking a training course at the C.G.S. at the time.
