Halifax NR119 at Driffield airfield.
At 17.15hrs on 9th October 1944 this 462 Squadron aircraft was having its engines run up at Driffield prior to taking off for an operational flight to Bochum when a photo flare fell down it's chute and exploded. It was thought that the bomb release push switch was left unguarded and was accidentally depressed when an airman moved a seat within the aircraft. Minor damage resulted.
