Halifax NP684 damaged in the air, returned to Linton on Ouse.
During the evening of 8th August 1944 the crew of this 426 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb a target at Foret de Chantilly and took off from Linton on Ouse airfield at 18.34hrs. They released their bomb load onto target markers from 16,500 feet at 21.10hrs and while over the target the aircraft was hit by flak. Despite the damage the crew returned to Linton on Ouse and landed at 23.40hrs.
