Halifax NA622 damaged in the air, landed at Driffield airfield.

On 6th October 1944 the crew of this 462 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb Sterkrade and took off from Driffield airfield at 14.35hrs. The crew released their bomb load onto the target area from 17,000 feet. During the course of this flight the aircraft was slightly damaged by flak which slightly injured the pilot the left knee. Despite the damage the aircraft returned to Driffield and landed at 19.27hrs. The injured airman was admitted to station sick quarters.
