Halifax MZ883 at Skipton on Swale airfield.

During the afternoon of 12th August 1944 this 433 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb at target at Mont Richard and took off from Skipton on Swale airfield at 11.05hrs. The crew released their bomb load onto the target area at 14.02hrs from 16,500 feet, they landed normally at Skipton on Swale airfield at 16.38hrs. While taxying around the airfield at 16.40hrs the aircraft collided with some form of stand that groundcrew had left in the way. Minor damage resulted to the aircraft. The squadron records identify the aircraft as Halifax MZ882 but this aircraft never served with 433 Squadron, MZ883 did and it's AM Form 78 lists it as having sustained a damage assessment that fits for this date and damage assessment catagory.
