Halifax MZ813 damaged in the air, returned to Skipton on Swale airfield.
On the night of 12th / 13th August 1944 the crew of this 424 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb a target at Brunswick. The crew took off from Skipton on Swale airfield at 21.24hrs. They released their bomb load onto target markers from 18,000 feet at 00.06hrs but sustained minor damage due to a flak burst. Despite damage to the H2S the crew returned to Skipton on Swale and landed at 02.47hrs. This aeroplane carried the noseart "Bambi".
