Halifax MZ812 damaged in the air, landed at Full Sutton airfield.
During the afternoon of 20th July 1944 the crew of this 77 Squadron aircraft were detailed to fly an operational flight to bomb Chappelle-Notre Dame and they took off from Full Sutton airfield at 14.25hrs.
The crew released their bomb load onto the target at 15.50hrs from 14,800 feet. The squadron records do not mention that this aircraft sustained any damage on this flight but the Full Sutton station records
state that the starboard inner engine was damaged by a piece of flak went down the air intake. Despite the damage the crew returned to Full Sutton and landed at 17.20hrs.
