Halifax MZ800 at Pocklington airfield.

During the afternoon on 9th December 1944 this 102 Squadron aircraft was flown to give a lesser experienced pilot instruction by a more experienced one. After a twenty minute flight the pupil pilot undershot the landing at Pocklington airfield at 15.30hrs and struck the boundary hedge which caused damage to the tail wheel and also the port wheel. On the subsequent landing on the airfield the port undercarriage collapsed and the tail wheel broke off.
