Halifax MZ766 at Snaith airfield.

On the night of 25th / 26th August 1944 this 51 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb a target at Pointe-des-Espagnols, near Brest. The aircraft took off from Snaith at 21.11hrs and released their bomb load from 12,000 feet at 00.17hrs. On landing at Snaith at 02.11hrs the tail wheel mounting assembly broke causing the aircraft to come to rest with minor damage.
