Halifax MZ699 damaged in the air, landed at Full Sutton airfield.

On the night of 6th / 7th June 1944 the crew of this 77 Squadron aircraft were detailed to fly an operational flight to bomb targets at St.Lo, France and they took off from Full Sutton airfield at 22.20hrs. The crew released their bomb load onto the primary target from 3,000 feet. The squadron records do not record that this aircraft sustained any damage but the Full Sutton station records state that it returned with enemy action damage to the port mainplane. Despite the damage the crew returned to Full Sutton and landed at 03.30hrs.

All apart from Sgt White were killed on 25th June 1944 while flying in Halifax LL549 that was hit from above by falling bombs and the aircraft broke up.
