Halifax MZ500 at Riccall airfield.
During the afternoon of 8th December 1944 this 1658 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was to be flown on a basic circuits and landings training exerise using Riccall airfield. At 14.30hrs prior to take off the aircraft was being taxied on the perimeter track when the tail ran through a hole on the perimeter track whilst it was being turned. The tail wheel unit then broke.
