Halifax MZ410 at Melbourne airfield.
During the afternoon of 18th November 1944 this 10 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb Munster and took off from Melbourne at 12.42hrs. The crew released their bomb load from 19,000 feet at 15.06hrs and made for home. Poor weather was effecting landing on their return to Mebourne which saw the F.I.D.O. turned on. At 17.50hrs this aircraft landed but could not stop on the runway, it ran off the airfield and came to rest with the undercarriage collapsed in the boundary ditch full of water.
