Halifax MZ404 damaged in the air, landed at Leconfield airfield.
During the afternoon of 16th November 1944 this 640 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb Julich and took off from Leconfield at 12.47hrs. The crew released their bomb load onto the target area at 15.32hrs from 14,000 feet and while over the target area the aircraft was struck by flak which damaged the perspex in the rear turret. At 17.26hrs the aircraft landed at Leconfield without further incident.
