Halifax MZ336 at Full Sutton airfield.

On the night of 5th / 6th December 1944 the crew of this 77 Squadron aircraft were detailed to fly an operational flight to bomb Soest but whilst taxying from the dispersal prior to taking off from Full Sutton airfield the aircraft's brakes failed. The other 77 Squadron aircraft were taking off between 17.30hrs and 18.30hrs so this incident would have occurred between these times. It ran into a hedge which caused damage to the port fin and then prevented it being flown that night. Very minor Cat.A damage must have occurred as there is no A.M.Form 1180 for the incident and it is not recorded on it's A.M.Form 78.
