Lancaster Mk.I ME732 damaged in the air, landed at Driffield airfield.
On the night of 22nd / 23rd May 1944 the crew of this 61 Squadron aircraft took off from Skellingthorpe airfield at 22.47hrs to undertake an operational flight to bomb Brunswick. The crew bombed the target
from 22,000 feet. The squadron records do not give any indication that this aircraft was damaged by flak but the Driffield airfield record book states that it was damaged by flak and then landed at Driffield
at 04.58hrs. This was this crew's first operational flight together and they arrived at 61 Squadron on 11th May 1944.
