Lancaster ME368 at Yeadon airfield.
On 18th December 1944 this aircraft was to be flown by a pilot from No.7 Ferry Pilot Pool, ATA, based at Sherburn in Elmet, from the manufacturers Avro at Yeadon almost certainly to 32 MU of the RAF. On take off from Yeadon a problem with the undercarriage meant that it would not retract. The pilot landed sucessfully at 11.30hrs at back Yeadon. A possible manufacturing fault was thought to blame. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted. It was deemed to be Cat.Ac/FA damaged and was swiftly repaired on site. The aircraft was later flown to 32 MU on 1st January 1945.
