Halifax LW632 at Tholthorpe airfield.

On the night of 24th / 25th April 1944 this 425 Squadron aircraft was used to flying an operational flight to bomb a target at Karlsruhe and took off from Tholthorpe airfield at 21.35hrs. The crew released their bomb load onto the target area from 20,000 feet at 00.45hrs and made for home. On landing at Tholthorpe at 04.10hrs the undercarriage was not properly locked down and on touching down it collapsed.
