Halifax LW578 at Snaith airfield.
During the afternoon of 22nd April 1944 this 51 Squadron aircraft was given an airtest, on landing at Snaith at 13.00hrs after a 45 minute flight the port main tyre burst causing the pilot to loose control and the aircraft swing off the runway. The aircraft came to rest with the main undercarriage legs collapsed and the aircraft was badly damaged.
