Halifax LW178 at Breighton airfield.
On the night of 3rd / 4th June 1944 this 78 Squadron aircraft undertook a mine laying flight to the Jellyfish area and the crew took off from Breighton at 22.26hrs. They dropped their mines as ordered at 01.30hrs from 15,000 feet and made for home. A normal landing was made at Breighton at 03.30hrs. At 03.38hrs whilst LW178 was stationary on the perimeter track it was taxied into by Halifax LV901. Cat.B damage resulted to LW178.
