Halifax LV997 at Skipton on Swale airfield.

At 15.05hrs on 17th May 1944 this 424 Squadron aircraft was being taxied around Skipton on Swale airfield prior to taking off for a practice bombing exercise. While taxying on the perimeter track the aircraft collided with a vehicle being used for work on the perimeter track. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted. The pilot and bomb aimer were blamed for not keeping an adequate look out or for not contacting flying control for further instructions to avoid the obstruction.
