Halifax LV937 at Snaith airfield.
On the night of 25th / 26th August 1944 this 51 Squadron aircraft was flown on an operational flight to bomb a target at Pointe-des-Espagnols, near Brest. The aircraft took off from Snaith at 20.57hrs and released their bomb load from 13,000 feet at 00.21hrs. On landing at Snaith at 02.24 the aircraft bounced slightly causing the tail wheel bracket to break and the tail wheel assembly to fall off. The aircraft came to rest with minor damage.
