Halifax LV901 at Breighton airfield.
On the night of 3rd / 4th June 1944 this 78 Squadron aircraft undertook a mine laying flight to the Jellyfish area and the crew took off from Breighton at 22.33hrs. They dropped their mines as ordered at 01.32hrs from 15,000 feet and made for home. A normal landing was made at Breighton at 03.33hrs. At 03.38hrs whilst Halifax LW178 was stationary on the perimeter track it was taxied into by Halifax LV901. Minor damage resulted to Halifax LV901.

Halifax LV901's AM Form 78 does not mention any damage assessment but it does state (in error) that it was struck off charge having sustained Cat.E damage on 24th May 1944 though I do not believe that this is correct. Halifax LV905 was lost on 24th May 1944 and I believe that the loss of that has been recorded on the AM Form 78 for LV901 in error.
