Lancaster LL617 damaged in the air, returned to Linton on Ouse airfield.

During the morning of 6th July 1944 the crew of this 408 Squadron aircraft flew an operational flight to bomb a target at Siracourt, France and took off from Linton on Ouse airfield at 05.26hrs. This crew released their bomb load on to target markers from 12,000 feet at 07.59hrs. During the course of the flight the aeroplane was slightly damaged by flak but despite the damage the crew returned to Linton on Ouse at 09.41hrs and landed safely.
