Halifax LL396 at Rufforth airfield.
At 18.52hrs on 1st December 1944 this 1663 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft landed at Rufforth airfield in a cross-wind. Just prior to touching down the wind caught the aircraft, it then landed with the tail wheel first and the wind then tipped the aircraft onto the starboard wing. The aircraft came to rest with minor damage and a damaged starboard outer engine.
