Halifax LK887 damaged in the air, returned to Croft airfield.

During the morning of 25th June 1944 the crew of this 434 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb a target at Gorenflos and took off from Croft airfield at 06.47hrs. They released their bomb load onto target markers from 14,200 feet at 08.59hrs but shortly after releasing the load the aircraft was slightly damagd by flak. Despite the damage the crew returned to Croft and landed at 10.56hrs.
