Halifax LK786 at Leconfield airfield.
During the afternoon on 22nd May 1944 this 640 Squadron aircraft was flown on an airtest. On landing at Leconfield at 16.02hrs the tail wheel assembly broke off. The tail wheel assembly breaking was a frequent cause of many minor flying accidents among Halifaxes.
