Halifax LK755 at Linton on Ouse airfield.

During the night of 13th / 14th June 1944 this 426 Squadron aircraft was flown a night training flight that lasted 3.25hrs. On landing at Linton on Ouse airfield at around 03.00hrs the crew taxied the aircraft around the airfield and back to a dispersal point following ground marshall instructions. Once the aircraft reached the dispersal point the pilot mistook the signal of ground marshalls informing him to stop to for that of a signal telling him to turn so he made a turn but unfortunately there was an obstruction in the way and a collision occurred. The pilot was killed just three days later on Ops and his buried in Wonseradeel Churchyard, Netherlandss.

Pilot - F/O John Francis Edward Tabor RCAF (J/27196).
