Hurricane LF560 was built to contract 62305/39Vb by Hawker Aircraft Ltd. at Brooklands / Langley and was awaiting collection in March 1944. It was initially flown into MU store before being taken on charge by 1695 (B)D.T.Flt. at Dalton but the date it arrived is not known. The incident at Dalton on 28th August 1944 it not recorded in the published Air Britain history for the aircraft but it was probably a minor Cat.A/FA incident requiring a repair on site. The aircraft next appears on charge with 1666 H.C.U. at Wombleton before moving to 1659 H.C.U. at Topcliffe. It finally served with 1690 (B)D.T.Flt. at Holme on Spalding Moor. On 7th May 1945 this unit disbanded so the aircraft went back into MU store pending disposal. It was struck off charge on 1st November 1945.
