Halifax JD376 damage found on inspection at Rufforth airfield.
During the morning on 25th February 1944 this 1663 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was used to fly a training flight. There appears to have been some kind of problem with the port outer engine but the crew landed without incident. A later inspection found that the main-plane had been strained on an earlier flight when the aircraft had been over on it's back in the air after the then pilot had lost control and then regained control again.
Pilot - F/Sgt Louis Edmund Claes RAAF (414386).
