Halifax JB929 at Topcliffe airfield.
During the afternoon on 16th February 1944 this 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was flown on a training flight. At 14.56hrs the aircraft landed at Topcliffe but began to swing off the runway, the aircraft ran onto wet grass which saw control being lost and the aircraft ground looped. The undercarriage then collapsed and the aircraft came to rest badly damaged.
