Halifax HX357 at Melbourne airfield.

During the afternoon of 16th August 1944 this 10 Squadron aircraft was given an airtest. The aircraft made a one-wheeled landing at Melbourne at 17.00hrs and once the second wheel touched down the aircraft swung off the runway, unfortunately the aircraft ran over the F.I.D.O. system that was installed next to the runway which burst the starboard tyre. The aircraft came to rest with the starboard undercarriage collapsed.
