Halifax HX231 at Leconfield airfield.
During the early hours of 25th January 1944 a strong and gusty wind was present at Leconfield airfield. This 466 Squadron aircraft was parked with chocks under the wheels and the brakes applied but constant buffeting of the wind combined with a lack of brake pressure resulted in the chocks being forced out and the aircraft rolled forward in to some form of obstruction. Minor damage to the aircraft resulted.
No crew.
