Martinet HP261 at Burn airfield.
On 25th May 1944 this aircraft was being ferried by a pilot from No.4 Delivery Flight between Ayr and Southend airfields. After ninety minutes of flying the aircraft struck overhead cables in the Burn area. The windscreen was shattered so the pilot made a landing at the nearest airfield, Burn, at 17.45hrs. The pilot received injuries. The aircraft's port wing leading esge and perspex window were slightly damaged. The pilot was held responsible for low flying and underwent a three month probationary period of target towing duties.

Edward Eatough received a commission in April 1945 and was Mentioned in Despatches in the New Year honours list 1946.
