Lancaster DS763 damaged in the air, landed at Linton on Ouse airfield.
On the night of 28th / 29th July 1944 the crew of this 408 Squadron aircraft undertook an operational flight to bomb a target at Hamburg. The crew took off from Linton on Ouse airfield at 22.46hrs. They released their bomb load onto target markers from 17,000 feet at 01.17hrs and during the flight a flak burst caused damage to the starboard side of the windshield. Despite the damage the crew returned to Linton on Ouse and landed at 04.22hrs.
