Firebrand DK375 at Brough airfield.
On 9th August 1944 the pilot of this aircraft was undertaking a cross-country flight when the aircraft suffered hydraulic failure, he made a belly landing at Brough airfield. The aircraft was later repaired. The pilot's name is probably not correct as no such person is listed in the AIR78 files in the National Archives that name every person who served in the RAF nor does there appear to have been anyone in the ATA of that name. More information is required to discover what the aircraft was doing in the Brough area. On paper the aircraft was on the books of the ADTU based at Gosport. The aircraft may have been at the Blackburn factory at Brough for some work to be carried out prior to the crash and was being ferried to join it's unit at the time.
