Halifax DK194 at Rufforth airfield.

On the night of 20th / 21st April 1944 this 1663 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft was used to fly a night training flight. On landing at Rufforth at 00.30hrs following a 2.15hr training flight the aircraft began taxying around the airfield. Halifax DG276 was also flown on a similar training flight and was ahead of this aircraft taxying around the airfield. The crew of DG276 halted on one of the runways not being used for the take-offs and landings. Halifax DK194 was following DG276 and ran into the back of it. Neither aircraft appear to have had any lighting showing owing to believed enemy action in the area. Minor damage to this aircraft resulted.
