Halifax DG401 at Pocklington airfield.
At 10.20hrs on 8th February 1944 this 1663 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft swung whilst making a three engined landing at Pocklington resulting in the undercarriage collapsing. Both legs appears to have given way as the aircraft received extensive damage that later saw it written off. 1663 H.C.U. were based at Rufforth but were using other airfields in the Pocklington / Holme on Spalding Moor and area for some of their exercises during February 1944 while construction work was being carried at Rufforth.
