Spitfire BL350 near Catfoss airfield.
This aircraft was to have been flown on a training exercise. At 11.08hrs on 17th December 1944 this Central Gunnery School aircraft was in the process of taking off from Catfoss airfield when the engine cut out at just eight feet above the ground. The pilot made a belly landing in a field near the airfield but the aircraft was badly damaged.
