Unidentified Martinet at Church Fenton airfield.
The Clifton airfield Flying Control record book (AIR16/928) states that on 9th July 1944 Church Fenton airfield informed them at 12.15hrs that a Martinet flown by the named pilot was taxying at Church Fenton airfield when he struck an obstruction.
Pilot - F/Lt Derek Sydney Yapp DFC RAF (41975).
Derek Yapp served in the Battle of Britain with 245 Squadron and 153 Squadron. He appears in the No.4 Delivery Flight records as being posted to Church Fenton on 5th July 1944, from Clifton where the flight was based.
