On 5th July 1944 this aircraft was being flown on a training flight when the engine failed. The aircraft belonged to the 554th Fighter Training Squadron, 496 Fighter Training Group, USAAF and was based at Goxhill. It either crashed after the pilot baled out or was force landed at Ganstead, Hull. More information is required.
