Unidentified P-38 Lightning at Dalton airfield.
Following an operational flight on 4th January 1944 this aircraft USAAF aircraft landed at Dalton airfield with an one engine not functioning. This would have been a rare visiting aircraft at Dalton airfield. Whether it landed with any other damage is not listed in the 1691 (B)G.Flt orb (where my basic information was located). This orb gives the aircraft as being "No.JKI 42-204" but this does not relate to a correct P-38 serial number.
