Unidentified Spitfire at Snaith airfield.
The Clifton airfield Flying Control occurance log (AIR16/929) makes vague mention that on 2nd October 1944 two Spitfires landed at Snaith airfield and that one damaged a tyre on landing. An Anson was sent from Clifton airfield to collect the stranded pilot. Exactly where the Spitfires were going is not known. Given Clifton were contacted they may have been flown by Delivery Flight pilots.
