Unidentified Halifax at Topcliffe airfield.
On 28th February 1944 the crew of this unidentified 1659 Heavy Conversion Unit aircraft taxied into Oxford P8975 at Topcliffe airfield. The Oxford received damage that would see it written off after assessment, the Halifax was repaired having sustained serious but repairable Cat.B. Halifax R9382 is quoted elsewhere as being the identity of the damaged Halifax but this cannot be correct as this aircraft was written off days later on 3rd March 1944 and a Cat.B damaged aircraft would take longer than a few days to repair.
