Unidentified aircraft forced landing near Holmfirth.
The Clifton airfield Flying Control occurance log (AIR16/928) stated that at 16.30hrs on 21st April 1944 the named pilot telephoned them from Holmfirth to say he had force landed in a field owing to poor weather and running low on fuel. He had no damage or injuries but required fuel. Ringway airfield were subsequently informed and asked to send some fuel to the local police station. The pilot's name does not appear in No.4 Delivery Flight's record book who were based at Clifton. Who had the aircraft is not yet known.
